Aprés Ski Raglan Cardigan

I'm posting these notes for myself, which is why I'm not publishing it as a pattern.
They may be clear enough for others to follow, but maybe not.






With 5mm crochet hook and working yarn, chain 63st, 64sts total including live stitch.
Switch to 3mm, pick up 63st, in 1x1 rib. 
Work 1x1 rib for 2cms.

Switch to size 5mm needles. 
Sl, *K1,P1 for 8st, P1, place RIB marker, *KFB, K3, repeat from * to 9st from the end of the row, 
Place RIB marker, P2, *K1, P1 to last stitch, K1. - 76sts.

On next purl row: (first purl row, place RAGLAN markers at: 16/6/32/6/16)
S1, *K1, P1 x3, K2, slip RIB marker.
P7, place RAGLAN marker.
P6, place RAGLAN marker.
P32, place RAGLAN marker.
P6, place RAGLAN marker.
P7, place RAGLAN marker.
Slip RIB marker, K1, *K1, P1 repeat from * to last stitch, K1.


On next and the following 33 knit rows, (slip all markers):
Increase on knit rows with KFB, K1, before and K1, KFB after each RAGLAN marker.

On next and all purl rows, (slip all markers):
S1, *K1, P1 x3, K2, purl to next RIB marker, K1, *K1, P1 repeat from * to last stitch, K1.



(Neck shaping - optional: Work a few rows then shape the neck.To shape neck, work 2 sets of short rows between the back markers.(Purl to the second back marker, wrap and turn, KFB, knit back to the first back marker, wrap and turn, KFB, continue in pattern to the end of the row. Knit a regular row, then work another short row row) ).



Increase for 33 INCREASES​.

Divide sleeves: set 64sts onto scrap yarn, make 4 stitches under each arm.Continue knitting body in stocking stitch with rib edging until work measures 54cms from top of front collar. 

Pockets:
On a knit row, knit 20sts after RIB marker, set 25sts onto scrap yarn. Make 27sts. (Make 2 more to allow extra width for pocket edge ribbing and general shape)
Knit up to 45sts before next marker. Set 25sts onto scrap yarn, make 27sts.On the following purl row, KNIT the two sets of 27 made stitches.
Continue in stocking stitch with rib edges until work measures desired length (knee length).

For pocket edge: use size 3mm needles, pick up the 27 knit bumps plus 1st either side. 
Switch to 4.5 mm needles, K1, P1 rib for 2-3 cms to make pocket cuff.
Using 3mm needles, pick up 25st off the scrap yarn and 27 stitches at the inside base of pocket cuff.
Switch to 5mm needles and knit until pocket measures 15cms.
Kitchener stitch to close.

SLEEVES:

Option ONE  knit directly into garment.

Start in the middle of the 4 made stitches and pick up the sleeve stitches​ on the scrap yarn on the body, plus the 2 last made stitches. - 66st. 
Place marker at the beginning of the row.On first row, K1, K2TOG, Knit to the last 3sts, K2TOG, K1. - 64sts.

Knit in the round for 5cms, decrease either side of the marker - K2tog, K1, slip marker, K1, SSK.Work until sleeve is the desired length, while decreasing to 56, evenly distributed decreases.Switch to 4mm, knit one round.K1,P1, for about 3cms. Cast off in rib.

Option Two: provisionalUsing scrap yarn in a contrasting colour, crochet a chain of more than 66.
Pick up 64st, join work and knit in the round. 
Knit in the round for 4.5cms, decrease either side of the marker - K2tog, K1, slip marker, K1, SSK.Work until sleeve is the desired length, decreasing to 56, evenly distributed decreases.Switch to 4mm, knit one round.K1,P1, for about 3cms. Cast off in rib.

On the body, start in the middle of the 4 made stitches and pick up the sleeve stitches​ on the scrap yarn on the body, plus the 2 last made stitches. - 66st. 
Place marker at the beginning of the row.On first row, K1, K2TOG, Knit to the last 3sts, K2TOG, K1. - 64sts.
knit one round.

On the sleeve, rip out crochet chain while picking up the stitches.
Graft sleeve to the body using Kitchener stitch.

Stitch down pocket cuff edges, stitch armhole corners if necessary, weave in all ends, wash and block.
