Wave Hat pattern

This hat can be knit any length. It has no ribbing and has minimalistic look.

The white hat is in aran weight Nepal by Drops and 4ply Mini Alpakka by Sandnes Garn.
The blue hat is some random yarn I had in my stash with no label.

The white hat has a standard cast on. The blue hat I knit using a provisional cast on, then went back and cast off the rim using the loose, slightly decorative Russian bind off.

Russian cast/bind off egde vs. regular cast on edge.

Instructions for the WHITE HAT - finished length 23cms

Use an aran weight yarn and a 4ply weight yarn double stranded.
Using 6mm, circular needles, CO 56 st.

Join the work and knit 18 rounds or until it measures 9cms.

Knit the next round, placing markers at 7st intervals. (K7, PM, to the end of the round).

For the following round, M1 after each marker, for the round after, M1 before each marker. (Note, there is no knit round between the increase rounds!) Continue increasing until you have 88 stitches in total.

Leaving markers in place, knit until work measures 16cms from the cast on edge/rim of the hat.

K2tog before each marker on every second round, until there are 4 stitches between each marker.
K2tog all the way around and finish the hat.
